Optimal Prescribing is a web-based course developed by LCF Research. This course and other projects were funded by The Attorney General Consumer and Prescriber Education Grant Program to help physicians, pharmacists, and consumers access fair and balanced prescription drug information and to reduce product marketing's influence on prescribing decisions. LCF Research's three-credit course is now available in the public domain at the following link: http://www.cecity.com/ce-bin/owa/eact?a=8561

The course uses video clips, interactive pages, downloadable PDF references, text and narration to engage learners. Optimal Prescribing includes a pre-test, a brief introduction, three modules, a post-test, and an evaluation. There is also a 90-day delayed follow up survey to evaluate the impact of the material on prescribing practices.

You can see other courses funded by these grants at the Federation of State Medical Boards Online Prescriber Education Network (OPEN) website at the following link: http://www.fsmb.org/re/open/modules.html
