Education Capability

LCF Research maintains a continuing education staff which complements its health services research capabilities. LCF Research's Continuing Professional Education (CPE) program seeks to provide educational interventions as a part of applied research projects by helping to translate research into practice, satisfying the highest goals of continuing professional education, and making a positive difference in patient outcomes.

CPE provides clinical educational opportunities to local, regional, and national audiences through live conferences and enduring materials. LCF Research is an accredited provider of continuing education through the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).The CPE staff is also experienced in obtaining continuing education credit for pharmacists, social workers, therapists, and other ancillary healthcare professionals, via other ancillary healthcare professionals, via other credit-granting organizations.

Projects include:

  • Regional and/or National live conferences, e.g.., Beginning and Advanced Preceptorships in the Management of Anticoagulation Therapy and Clinical Thrombosis
  • Small discussion groups, e.g.., Gamma Knife Tumor Conference
  • Online self-paced curricula, e.g., "Optimal Prescribing Practices"
  • Multi-site research projects with educational interventions, e.g., Colorectal Cancer Screening

Needs assessment, program planning, faculty coordination, meeting planning, marketing, educational grant writing, registration, and evaluation are some of the services offered by the CPE staff.
